Sub-Zero/Wolf Training

This past week we were given the opportunity to attend a training at the Sub-Zero/Wolf Showroom in Dallas, Texas. We learned about many of their current and upcoming series of appliances that are truly amazing! We were also given a tour of their facility, which was beautifully designed. It's official!!! Contemporary kitchens are on the rise!

In 2014 Contemporary kitchens are on the rise, while ornamental Tuscan, Provincial, and Country Rustic styles are on the decline. The 2014 National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Design Trends Survey forecasts the rising popularity of kitchens with simple lines, good storage, and special places for electronics and pets. For those trends on the down swing NKBA members mentioned doing fewer kitchens with highly ornamented Tuscan and Provincial looks. Distressed and/or glazed finishes are also less popular, as are country/rustic styles. Respondents also expect to use fewer porcelain sinks in 2014.

Composting On The Rise

Has composting crossed your mind? Turns out many people and cities are looking to save money and the environment with composting programs. Recently, New York was highlighted during the segment ‘All Things Considered’ on NPR for initiating pilot compost programs in many of the cities high rises.
